Exhibition Center of Rome


According with Fiera di Roma, was built in 2008 one of the biggest thin-film photovoltaic plants in the world on the roofs of the pavilions of the exhibition centre of Rome with a power of 1,517 MWp installed and a second photovoltaic plant on the shelters over the parking slots of the exhibition center.

Kind of plant: Architecturally integrated roofs coverage- Shelters over the parking slots.
Status: connected to the electric national grid in 2008 (rooftop PhV plant) and 2011 (car port plant)
Power: 1.765 kWp (1.515 kWp rooftop PhV plant, 241 kWp PhV car port plant and 7,55 kWp mover)
Technology: Amorphous silicon (Thin Film)
Performanceo: 2.100.000 KWh/year
Environmental benefits:

  • the plant reduces CO2 emissions by 1.470 tons/yea
  • 1.470.000 m2 of area of forest equivalent
  • Energy requirements satisfied: 700 families
